Minecraft was released by Mojang in the year 2009. Since then, there are many new upgradations and new features available in the game. Minecraft Composter is the recent feature added in the game. What is Minecraft Composter?

The Minecraft Composter is a block that helps in converting the crops, plant material, and other compostable materials into bone meal. The bone meal is very useful as fertilizer for the plants and trees to help them grow faster and bigger. The composter helps in converting the excess plant material and the poisonous potatoes into something useful. The composter can be generated on farms in all the village types.

The composter is available for different versions like Java Edition (PC/Mac), Pocket Edition (PE), Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 Edition, and Education Edition. It is not available in Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U.

Minecraft Composter Recipe

For making a composter, seven different types of wooden slabs are placed in a U shape on the Crafting Table. The top and the middle squares should be left open. Along the bottom row of the crafting table, three wooden planks can be places to make wooden slabs. Once the seven layers of compost are collected in the composter, it can be used to collect the Bone Meal. We will learn to make the composter for different versions.

The composter is found in the Miscellaneous section of the creative menu. The materials required for Java editions are any 3 wood planks and any 4 fences

The crafting materials required to build a composter are any type of 7 Wood slabs

  • 7 Dark Oak Wood Slabs

It is important to note that it is not necessary to use all types of wood. One-piece can be picked and used to build the Minecraft Composter.

How to Craft a Minecraft Composer

The 3*3 grid of the crafting table should be opened and the items should be added to create the composter. Once, the materials are placed in the correct order, the composter is produced. The composter is then moved to the inventory. Thus, we get the Minecraft composter.

How to Use Minecraft Composter

  1. Place the Composter

The composter should be selected in the Hotbar. Position the pointer at that place where the composter has to be placed. The block becomes highlighted in the game window.

  1. Add the items that can be used as compost

The compostable items should be added to the composter. The game control that is used to place a compostable item is different for different versions of Minecraft. In order to fill the composter, it is necessary to add 7 compost layers.

  1. Collecting the Bone Meal

Once the seven layers are created in the compost, the composter is ready and the player can collect the bone meal. In this also, the game control differs for every version.

For adding items in the compost and for collecting bone meal, different game control is used for different versions of Minecraft.

  • For Java Edition, Windows 10 Edition, and Education Edition, right-click should be done on the composter.
  • For Pocket Edition, the player should tap on Composter.
  • For Xbox One, the L2 button on the Xbox controller should be pressed.
  • For PS4, the L2 button on the PS controller is used.
  • For Nintendo Switch, the ZL button on the controller is used.
